Late 1930's Lanco 41mm Pilots watch, rotating bezel with indicator, red sweep hand with white indicator. 15 jewel movement with screw back case, number 306.
This is the second or third Lanco in with a low numbered screw back I have seen to this specification, later watches have the Lanco name in script gold. Fitted with a hand made English made strap in the style of a Hanhart Flieger chrono strap, the watch presents well and is a pleasure to wear. Western European pilots bought very similar watches in the lead up to WW2, as described by Konrad Krim in his illustrated guide to German watches, it was not until the out break of WW2 that Governments started to either standardise on watch patterns to set specifications, this pilot's watch predates the Hanhart, Tutima and larger Luftwaffe B UHR pilots and navigators watches introduced at the beginning of WW2, and represents good value compared with the issue chronographs. The Lanco keeps good time, was recently cleaned and is 100% original. The item "1939 Lanco 41mm Luftwaffe Pilot's watch rotating bezel with red centre sweep" is in sale since Friday, September 4, 2020.
